Tom Waters, Group Head of partypoker said: “With Powerfest coming to a close we wanted to offer players another huge guaranteed online tournament. Our normal MTT schedule offers our biggest guarantees at peak European time, so we decided that we would like to offer all our online players around the world the chance to play in a huge online tournament. This online GPPT is structured with multi-time zone day 1’s so that everyone can get involved at a time that suits them. This is a unique concept for us to try and if it is supported we will look to build this into our monthly offering. The new multi-day tournament on partypoker is something we have been working on for a while so I am delighted to bring this new feature to the site.”

Well done to Slackarse. No really. Richard “slackarse” Robinson won the GPPT Online leg last night for over $11,600 beating 528 other players.

Richard lives in Stockport and plays most of his poker at Didsbury and at Bury New Road. He played GPPT Old Trafford and qualified to play at the WPT500 last year in Amsterdam but failed to cash in either and was delighted to beat such a tough field in this event. He’s looking forward to playing more GPPTs this yea year

Well done slackarse, GPPT Online winner

Nathan Farnaby WINS the partypoker Grand Prix Poker Tour St. James Park Leg for $35,000!

No sooner had heads-up begun is it all over! Nathan went into the duel with Thales Salomao with a decisive chip-lead and he has made it count instantly after finishing off his opponent in the hand between the two men.

Thales started heads-up with just 8 million facing up to Nathan’s 3:1 chip-lead with 27 million. Thales opened the action by shoving all-in pre-flop with and after a minute’s thought, Nathan called off the 7.2m (he was big blind in the hand) and showed . The flop sent Nathan well ahead after it came but gave Thales a gut-shot at the straight. The turn of kept Nathan ahead, and the river of ended the action and the tournament as Nathan celebrated! He wins $35,000 including a $109 seat to another leg, while Thales goes home with $24,000 – a fantastic runner-up prize for a $109 entry tournament!

From the first shuffle up and deal from Rob Lee on Day 1 at lunchtime, we’ve seen drama, thrills and excitement mirroring recent memories from other legs of this spectacular Grand Prix Poker Tour and in the grand traditions of this great old football ground of St. James Park.

From all of us on the live reporting team and of course the commentary team, we’d like to extend our thanks to you all for making it such a special occasion for all the players involved, but also ourselves on the Grand Prix Poker Tour.

We’ll see you online for a very special GPPT event this coming Wednesday the 24th (keep ‘em locked to partypoker.com) and the next online leg in March, before we all head to Elland Road, the iconic home of Leeds United for the next live stop on the tour on the weekend of April 9th and 10th.

Ha’way to the lads and lasses who made the money and in particular, the winner Nathan Farnaby!

Nadeem Hussain Eliminated in 3rd Place ($16,000)

It was a race as Farnaby showed and Hussain the .

The board ran out .

A set right on the flop for Farnaby put Hussain at risk of elimination and the jack on the turn just rubbed it in a little bit. Hussain had spent the whole day on the feature table and had fallen at the last in third place as the tournament went to heads-up.

Peter Craw OUT in 4th ($12,000)

Peter Craw saw Nathan Farnaby raise to 1.1m and decided to shove all-in over the top for 4m chips with . This was called by Nathan and Thales got out of the way. Nathan turned over and it was a classic race.

Peter fell behind when the flop of landed and couldn’t catch a two-outer on the turn or river.

We lose Peter in 4th, and as players break for 15 minutes before returning to blinds of 300,000/600,000/75,000, here are the full chip-counts:

Thales Salomao 7,775,000 (12BB)

Nathan Farnaby 12,325,000 (20BB)

Nadem Hussain 16,350,000 (27BB)

Darren Knaggs Eliminated in 5th Place ($9,000)

Darren Knaggs finally found a spot where there were no raises in front of him and moved all in from the button. Nathan Farnaby in the big blind made the call as the price was right and the cards were on their backs.

Knaggs had and was dominated by the of Farnaby.

The board ran out and Knaggs was the next player out.
