Newcastle winner was Nathan Farnaby who took a cool $35,000 home with him and I have to say the heads up with Thales Salomao was over in a blink of an eye.
A couple of hands into the one-on-one battle, Salomao pushed his 7,200,000 stack into the middle with 9s 8s and Farnaby called with Jh Th. The 2d 6c Tc flop increased Farnaby’s lead, although Salomao picked up an inside straight draw. The Ad on the turn was no help to either player, and when the 2c fell on the river, Salomao bust and Farnaby was crowned the 2016 partypoker Grand Prix Poker Tour St. James’ Park champion and I am sure within a matter of days and holiday was booked.
